Six minutes later a ball over the top almost saw Hednesford take the lead as first Rodgers was denied before Glover saw his looping header cleared off the line and a follow-up shot blocked for a corner. The Pitmen would be behind for just six minutes though when Danny Glover fired the ball into an unguarded net after a miss-hit Rodgers effort found its way to the striker following good work by Matt Dodd. A whipped in corner saw a headed effort strike the crossbar with Glenn Steel being able to stoop to head home from inside the six-yard box. Wren was forced into another smart low save two minutes later before the visitors finally struck first in the 61 st minute. The Pitmen’s Devarn Green saw a fierce low shot blocked away in the 53 rd minute before Wren was called into action four minutes later when Winder fired in a free-kick from the edge of the box which the goalkeeper tipped onto the crossbar. Right on the stroke of halftime Oji was again in the thick of the action as his towering header from 12 yards was palmed away by Joshua Powell in the Lancaster goal before Luke Rodgers fired his effort over the crossbar. In the 38 th minute James Wren made a comfortable save from Lancaster’s Ryan Winder before Simon Wills looped a header onto the roof of the Pitmen net four minutes later.
